Topics to be Covered in 12 Sessions 　十二週預定主題

I. Small Talk and Social Activities 　　宅男宅女的異想世界
Not sure how to greet someone from another culture or what small talk is appropriate? Come get a closer look at different cultural habits and social activities. Share your experience and listen to other’s advice on what to look for when engaging new friends or traveling abroad.
不確定該怎麼用英文和別人打招呼？想和外國人聊天卻找不到話題或者講兩句就冷場？其實有時候不是語言隔閡，而是風俗民情不同。一起來經驗分享，聽聽在國外旅行或遇到來自異鄉的友人時該怎麼應對進退吧！

II. Movie Night Out - RomCom　　電影之夜－愛的跨文化
Hollywood movies are stereotyped as being formulamatic. However, do Asian movies fit the genre rules set forth by Hollywood? We will compare Romantic Comedies from the US and Taiwan to see if love is predictable on the silver screen everywhere. 
好萊塢電影總是公式化典型陳腔濫調？亞洲電影是不是也逃脫不了公式的命運？看電影不忘學習，來超級比一比美國和台灣的文藝片，看看『愛』在銀幕上是否放諸四海皆同的一成不變吧！

III. Ready for Adventure 　　旅行夢探險王

1. Packing and Airport 啟程首部曲：七上八下出發去
Traveling the world can be a wonderful way to broaden your worldview. Yet, for some it can be a daunting task if you are not prepared. Join part one of our three part series to make traveling and using English abroad a little bit easier. Get advice for packing heading to the airport from the perspective of a leisure traveler, a backpacker, or someone just getting away for the weekend.
旅行絕對是大開眼界最好的方法之一，不過沒準備好就上路總是讓人忍不住忐忑不安。出發前先來預演一下，不管是觀光客、背包客或者想單純輕旅行的大家都歡迎，一起來討論打包祕技到應付機場狀況的必備旅行英文。

2. Travel - What is this? 　旅程進行曲：出國百事問不完
Part two of the travel serious will cover the basics you need to ask questions and get around. Learn the difference between a restroom, bathroom, WC, loo, and lavatory (*hint they are all the same thing). English maybe a global language but not all words are used the same around even the English speaking world.
終於上路了，一路狀況百出要怎麼詢問才是？到底『休息室』、『浴室』、『廁所』、『洗手間』、『盥洗室』有什麼不同啊？為什麼問”May I borrow your toilet?” 對方一頭霧水的樣子？

3. Travel - Food and Entertainment 　　吃喝玩樂篇
For the last piece of our travel series get what you need to effectively order food and find the right type of places to relax. If you keep getting a blank look from the waiter when you order steak cooked “number 4”, this is the perfect lesson for you. Also, when people are talking about seeing a play, musical, opera, or dance performance be prepared for what you should wear and how to act.
旅行吃喝玩樂是一定要的，可是為什麼跟服務生說「四分熟」牛排上來的是「四號餐」？想去放鬆卻看不懂酒單？去看表演、音樂劇、歌劇卻被擋在門口？想要一路安心吃喝玩樂，還是先來上上課吧！

IV. Humor and Comedy 　　　　　我想笑卻又笑不出來？
Taiwan has its “cold jokes” and English has its silly puns. However, these don’t always translate well. Come get more insight into English humor and especially the cultural references that make or break stand-up comedians. 
台灣的冷笑話和英文的雙關語各擅勝場，一起來聊聊所謂『笑點』在哪，為什麼脫口秀喜劇讓滿室哄堂大笑，我卻想笑但是笑不出來？不了解文化不但沒辦法聽懂笑話，還容易鬧笑話，這裡分享南非脫口秀新星Trevor Noah第一次在美國吃墨西哥捲餅(taco)搞不懂 “napkin”是指餐巾紙時的雞同鴨講，你今天笑了嗎？　Trevor Noah: That's Racist - Tacos

V. To love or not to love 　　　　　　　愛不愛由你
Some say French is the language of love, but we will talk about love and heartbreak in English. Come learn what terms of endearment are or how to ask someone on a date. See how dating culture is different in Western and Asian culture. If someone says he or she just wants to “hang out,” what does that mean? Or if someone tells you that your blind date has “a great personality” make sure you know how to react.
也許是因為羅蘭巴特的《戀人絮語》，許多人覺得法文是最能表達愛的語言，但英文裡的愛恨情仇一樣豐富，一起來了解如何開口邀約心儀的對象，學學英文暱稱吧! 同時我們要來談談中西約會文化的差異，了解外國人最常掛在口邊的“hang out”到底是什麼意思? 要是有人跟你說幫你介紹的對象『個性很好、很善良』，你知道該怎麼回應嗎?

Understanding business English goes far beyond the language itself. Get all the help you need to write an e-mail or greet a foreign customer both linguistically but also culturally. When you meet a new customer do you know whether to bow, shake hands, or kiss? When writing an e-mail do you know when you should get straight to business or when to build a more personal relationship? Also, we will talk about the many wonderful things Taiwan has to offer the world and some ideas on how market and branding can help change people’s perspective on what Made in Taiwan means.

掌握商業英文必須了解西方思維，語言只是其中的一環。從書信往來到接待外國客戶，要建立良好互動，語言文化的常識缺一不可。遇到新客戶時，你知道什麼時候該吻頰、行禮，還是握握手就好？寫email時、講電話、開會或帶客戶參訪，到底什麼情況該開門見山談生意，什麼時候最好天南地北搏感情? 你知道其實有很多國際知名的品牌都是MIT，只是在國外包裝，價格就立刻水漲船高? 你知道怎麼建立品牌行銷才能讓台灣製造的優質產品在國際市場上佔有一席之地嗎? 聯創文化用三次主題工作坊的時間，讓我們一起探討商業英語的邏輯。 

VII. Relax...It’s Just Sex 　　　　　　　放輕鬆隨『性』談
Sex and sexuality have always been a taboo topic in many cultures. In this workshop we will discuss all the intimate things that are so taboo. It’s important to know how to express yourself and respect others in the right language when you talk about sex. However, it is also a fun topic for us to open up and engage in discussion. So, don’t be shy, relax, and come learn more about fifty shades of cultural differences when it comes to sex! 
在許多文化裡性與性向都是絕對的禁忌話題，但學校沒教的事常常都是最重要的事。所以聯創特別開設工作坊讓大家放鬆輕隨『性』談，學習如何用英文恰當表達自己同時尊重別人的性向，希望大家別害羞，一起來聊聊關於性事的五十道文化差異！

VIII. Your Turn to Propose a Topic 　　自由發揮主題隨你訂

聯創語文工作坊不以程度分班的原因是因為很多時候其實不是所謂的英文程度好不好，而是當初一開始學習的方式不適合自己，工作坊只收８到１２人的目的就是為了要適性教學，希望能幫助個人尋找最適合的學習方式，以三個月的時間把英文的語感培養出來，在生活中運用自如。

【Back to Basics 歸零重生班】是一個『砍掉重練』的概念，，Nick和Zona會依當週主題設計必學的句型和關鍵單字，針對聽說聽寫四大重點加強。全程用英文上課（偶爾真的碰到說不出來的詞可以偷偷問Zona老師這句話英文要怎麼說，不過一堂課求救卡最多只能用三次，不然就得要請出同學卡支援啦！) 希望能讓大家的學習之路更輕鬆有趣！
