【2014台灣月活動】講座：凝視舊城區－台北歷史街區與偶戲的對話

從清朝到1950年代，大稻埕是台北西區的商業及文化中心，各種大小企業、劇場、舞廳、劇團、電影院都集中在大稻埕。1960年代，商業區開始慢慢轉到東區，導致大稻埕的劇場關閉，社區沒落。21世紀開始，台北市政府努力給舊社區新生命，政府開始建立良好修復老房子的方案，新的文創公司跟傳統行業也一起創造新社區，是台北相當成功的「古城生活化」的案例。

Dadaocheng was the business and cultural center of west Taipei from Qing Dynasty to the 1950s, housing various enterprises and cultural venues. The shift of business activities led to its decline in the 1960s. In the 21st century, Taipei City Government initiated revitalization efforts with successful proposals. The mix of traditional businesses and the cultural and creative industries has made Dadaocheng a successful case of old town revitalization.
2014台灣月系列活動
今年的台灣月以「故事．台灣」為主題，透過展覽，表演，設計，講座等活動再度帶來濃濃的人文風味，在快速變遷的時代裡，希望能從人們記得的故事裡，去體會舊的不一定要拆，老的不一定過時，記憶帶來創新力量，傳統透過新的理解也會有新觀眾。恰逢台北老城區大稻埕130週年，正如當年的西營盤擁有開埠碼頭，現今的大稻埕如何以創意吸引文青流連忘返，而當你有機會凝視舊城區，你便有可能在故事裡看到城市的新機會。
This year, Taiwan Culture Festival returns with the theme of "stories", and through organizing a range of activities, including exhibitions, performances, community designs and talks, we once again offer a rich encounter with the arts. In today's fast-paced, ever-changing world, we hope to learn through personal stories that aging buildings do not have to be demolished, as "old" is not always old-fashioned, while memories can be put to novel uses and reinterpreting traditions can bring in new audiences as well. This year happens to be the 130th anniversary of Taipei's historical district Dadaocheng, which, similar to Hong Kong's Sai Ying Pun, used to be a trading dock in its early days. Dadaocheng has now been injected with fresh creativity, attracting a crowd of young, cultured people to hang out there. Indeed, once you get to look into stories of old towns, you will be able to discover new possibilities in our city.
