Language is always changing and a new word for the 21st century is born:-
'phubbing' (phone snubbing) - the act of holding a mobile phone in a social setting of two or more people and then interacting with that phone and not the people in the setting.
It's a social faux pas that a third of Britons polled admitted to in a recent survey, with more than a quarter (27%) saying they would answer their phone in the middle of a face-to-face conversation. A third confessed that they would answer their phone in a restaurant and 19% said they would whilst being served in a shop.
Are you, or is anyone you know a phubber?
Would you like to talk about phubbing, or any other inconsiderate things people do in public?
