Steve Chen is co-founder and former CTO of YouTube, as well as co-founder and CTO of the recently launched Nom, a live-streaming, interactive video platform about food.
Steve has long been proactive in cultivating innovation and tech entrepreneurship. His immediate venture following YouTube involved joining forces again with his fellow YouTube co-founder, Chad Hurley, and with Vijay Karunamurthy to found the incubator AVOS Systems, which gave them the opportunity to advise and engage with multiple startups at once. After spinning off MixBit, a mobile collaborative video-sharing app, from AVOS, Steve became an Entrepreneur in Residence at GV (formerly known as Google Ventures) allowing him to further advise and guide startups. More recently, Steve has donated USD $1 million to his high school alma mater, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), to build an innovation center encouraging mentorship with outside tech entrepreneurs and student-initiated ventures. His latest undertaking is Nom, a live, interactive video platform empowering users to direct, produce, and host their own food show.
Steve has been widely recognized by many in both business and the media communities having been honored as one of Business 2.0’s “50 People who matter now,” Fortune’s “Most Powerful People in Business,” and GQ’s “Men of the Year.”
While born in Taipei, Taiwan, Steve and his family immigrated to the United States when he was young. He was accepted into the selective STEM-focused public high school, Illinois Math & Science Academy (IMSA), and graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

在台灣出生，陳士駿 Steve Chen幼時舉家移民到美國，進入伊利諾數學與科學學會附屬高中就讀並於伊利諾大學香檳分校畢業。
Steve 一直致力於新創培育與科技創業領域，他與共同創辦人之一 Chad Hurley 延續 Youtube 成功經驗，與 Vijay Karunamurthy 聯手成立 AVOS Systems科技孵化器公司，幫助許多新創團隊並給予創業建議，爾後轉型建立影片分享應用軟體平台 MixBit。2014年起 Steve 加入 Google 創投擔任駐點創業家，更深度參與新創扶植。近年 Steve 捐贈給母校伊利諾數學與科學學會附屬高中(IMSA) 100萬美金，作為建立新創中心基金，並鼓勵外界科技創業家擔任學生創業的企業導師。Steve 近期的創業項目為美食直播平台 Nom，結合互動與現場直播影片提供使用者製作並呈現美食的舞台。

Tim Culpan is a multiple award-winning journalist covering the technology supply chain, startups, Internet and cyber security in Greater China.
Tim writes for Bloomberg across the organization's media platforms including Bloomberg News, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Television as well as Bloomberg’s Gadfly team.
He's been a resident foreign correspondent in Taiwan since 1999, previously writing for The Washington Post, Time, Billboard and SCMP. Prior to Taipei, he lived in Moscow and graduated from the University of Melbourne with degrees in finance & economics, and political science & international relations.
